Elekta’s Monaco 5.11 treatment planning system takes center stage at 2016 American Association of Physicists in Medicine Annual Meeting
Elekta will showcase the latest version of its treatment planning software, Monaco® version 5.11 at the 58th American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Meeting taking place from July 31 - August 4 in Washington DC. Monaco 5.11, which enables users to attain calculation speeds up to four times faster than previous versions, is cloud capable and is currently installed at several customer sites. Monaco continues to utilize multicriteria optimization and Monte Carlo dose calculations for high-quality dependable treatment planning results.
Monaco templates further increase efficiency by allowing users to easily import and export treatment plans, facilitating best practice sharing across departments and organizations. The ability to create multiple prescription plans simultaneously reduces overall planning time as well. Improved data sharing creates opportunities to optimize individual treatment plans.

Educational events
During AAPM, Elekta will host a series of educational events at the Marriott Marquis Washington DC. A User Meeting focusing on commissioning and planning for stereotactic radiation therapy will take place Saturday, July 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and a luncheon symposium focusing on emerging techniques including MR-guided radiation therapy will take place Monday, August 1 from noon to 1 p.m.
