Elekta expands in Poland through acquisition
Ian Alexander, Executive Vice President of Elekta's Region Europe, Africa, Latin America and Middle East, says: “The radiation therapy market is growing steadily as both private and public care providers strive to meet the need to deliver improved treatments. Bringing RTA into the Elekta family is a natural progression that will help meet this need and will benefit Polish cancer centers and, ultimately, their patients.
“Elekta’s strengthened position in Poland will also enable it to increase its presence in state-run and teaching hospitals,” he adds.
As previously stated, the acquisition of RTA is expected to add 0.3 percent to Elekta’s revenues on an annual basis and is expected to be EPS accretive on an annual basis.
With this finalization, RTA will change its name to Elekta and become a wholly-owned subsidiary.
