ELEKTA RECEIVES ORDERS FOR LEKSELL GAMMA KNIFE IN THE U.S., JAPAN AND ITALY VALUED AT SEK 160 MILLIONElekta has signed agreements to deliver Leksell Gamma Knife(R) equipment to the U.S., Japan and Italy. The agreements include delivery of Leksell Gamma Knife equipment and upgrade and reload of existing installations. The total order value is approximately SEK 160 million. The deliveries are planned for 2002-2004.One of the deliveries to the U.S. involves a unique prefabricated treatment room for Leksell Gamma Knife. The radiation-proof treatment room is being delivered turnkey, including all internal installations such as electrical, water, drains and ventilation. The hospital only needs to construct a concrete foundation for placement of the treatment room adjacent to the existing hospital buildings."This installation solution offers a number of advantages for the customer as well as Elekta," says Tomas Puusepp, responsible for Elekta's sales, marketing and service.
